The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) had ordered the closure of Vels Studio and Entertainment Ltd. where the show is filmed on October 7, citing serious lapses in compliance. Officials found the studio operating without an active sewage treatment plant and using unauthorized generators. The action forced the eviction of all contestants from the Bigg Boss house, who were then shifted to Eagleton Resort under strict confinement to maintain the show’s secrecy and rules.

Deputy CM Steps In

Taking to social media, DK Shivakumar announced that he had directed the Bengaluru South District Deputy Commissioner to lift the seal on the studio premises. “I have directed the Deputy Commissioner of Bengaluru South District to lift the seal on Jollywood premises in Bidadi, where Bigg Boss Kannada is being filmed.” He further added, “While environmental compliance remains a top priority, the studio will be given time to address violations in accordance with the norms set by the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board. I remain committed to supporting the Kannada entertainment industry, while also upholding our responsibility toward environmental protection.”

His move comes as a relief to the show’s team and fans who feared the sudden halt might impact ongoing production.

Kichcha Sudeepa Responds with Gratitude

Reacting to the Deputy CM’s decision, Bigg Boss Kannada host Kichcha Sudeepa expressed his heartfelt thanks on X (formerly Twitter).
“I sincerely thank Hon. @DKShivakumar sir for the timely support. Also want to thank the concerned authorities for acknowledging that #BBK was not involved or was a part of the recent chaos or disturbances. I truly appreciate the DCM for promptly responding to my call, and thank #Nalpad for his dedicated efforts. #BBK12 is here to stay.” the actor wrote.

Background: Why the Studio Was Sealed

According to Karnataka’s Forest, Ecology, and Environment Minister Eshwar Khandre, the studio had been issued two prior warnings on March 8, 2024, and June 11, 2024 ,but failed to comply with environmental standards. Following repeated violations, KSPCB sealed the property, cut off electricity, and deployed police and KSRP forces during the operation.

The swift government intervention has now allowed filming to resume, though the studio has been instructed to meet all compliance requirements within a stipulated timeframe.

Entertainment Continues, With Accountability

The reopening of the Bigg Boss Kannada house reflects a balancing act supporting Karnataka’s booming entertainment industry while ensuring adherence to environmental laws. With the seal lifted, fans can once again look forward to the twists and turns inside the Bigg Boss house, as the show resumes under watchful eyes
