Dhurandhar: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh, continues to draw attention not just for its gripping narrative but also for its connections to real-life events. One of the most talked-about characters from the film is Pinda, whose storyline appears to be inspired by an actual gangster from Punjab.

According to reports, Pinda’s character is based on Harwinder Singh Sandhu, widely known as Rinda. He hailed from Punjab and was allegedly involved in cross-border criminal activities, including drug smuggling and links with terrorist organisations. Rinda reportedly operated from Pakistan for several years and was associated with Babbar Khalsa International.

His criminal record allegedly spanned multiple states in India, involving serious charges such as murder, robbery and extortion before he moved abroad. His network reportedly dealt in arms, drugs and other illegal activities across borders, making him a significant figure in organised crime.

In Dhurandhar 2, Pinda is introduced as a close associate of the protagonist, playing a crucial role in helping him navigate the underworld. However, the narrative takes a dark turn when the character is killed during a confrontation. The film presents his death as a drug overdose, masking the violent circumstances behind it.

Interestingly, this fictional portrayal mirrors the reported circumstances surrounding Rinda’s death, adding a layer of realism to the story. The parallel between the reel and real-life endings has caught the attention of viewers, further fueling discussions around how closely the film draws from reality.

The Dhurandhar franchise is known for blending fiction with real-world inspirations, particularly from geopolitical conflicts and criminal networks. Pinda’s character stands out as one of the most striking examples of this approach, where cinematic storytelling reflects the complexities of real-life crime.
