Director Prem apologises over 'Sarse Ninna Seraga Sarse' song controversy in KD movie
Bengaluru: Director Prem has apologised following the controversy surrounding the song ‘Sarse Ninna Seraga Sarse’ from the upcoming film KD The Devil.
The song drew criticism over its lyrics, prompting reactions on social media. In a video shared online, Prem said he was ready to apologise if the song had hurt anyone.
He stated that the lyrics were written from his perspective and were based on a concept involving a bottle and pickle. He said there was no intention to be inappropriate or to hurt sentiments.
Prem said he has written songs on various themes in his films, including devotion, family and love, and expressed gratitude to audiences for their continued support.
He added that as a lyricist, he explores different styles of writing but clarified that the song was not intended to carry an inappropriate meaning. He said he would avoid causing hurt in the future.
The director also said he is willing to rewrite the song with revised lyrics and release a new version. He added that he does not intend to offend his audience.
Prem further stated that some people have misinterpreted the song and made negative remarks about him and his family on social media.
The film is scheduled for release on April 30.
