‘Cheap Publicity Stunt?’ Rakhi Sawant Slams Kapil Sharma Over Canada Cafe Incident

Newspoint
In a surprising turn of events, Bollywood personality Rakhi Sawant has publicly alleged that comedian Kapil Sharma may have orchestrated the firing incidents at his Canadian café as a publicity strategy. The café in question - Kap’s Café, located in Surrey, British Columbia - made headlines after several rounds of gunshots were fired at the establishment in mid-2025, though no injuries were reported.

Sawant’s comments, made during a recent interview with entertainment outlet Filmygyan, suggested that the incidents could have been a calculated move to generate media buzz rather than genuine threats. She reportedly said the café firing was merely a “cheap publicity stunt”, questioning whether foreign gang involvement was real or a cover to attract attention.
These assertions contrast sharply with the widely reported accounts of the shooting incidents. Multiple independent reports from Canadian authorities and international media documented that bullets were fired at the café on several occasions after its launch in July 2025, though thankfully no one was hurt.

In response to the real incidents, Kapil Sharma and the café management had previously taken to social media to condemn the violence and thank local authorities for their support, emphasising that they stood “united against violence” and expressing gratitude to the community as the café resumed operations.

Despite conspiracy claims, official narratives emphasise these incidents were serious enough to prompt heightened security measures, including increased precautions around Sharma’s residence in Mumbai and active police investigations in Canada.
Sawant’s allegations have now added a new dimension to the ongoing discussion, blurring the line between entertainment publicity and real-world safety incidents, and igniting debate among fans and critics alike. Whether these claims will prompt any official response remains to be seen.
