Karan Aujla Briefly Reposts Reel Criticising Kiara Advani’s Flight Behaviour, Sparking Online Debate

Punjabi music artist Karan Aujla found himself at the centre of a social media buzz after briefly resharing an Instagram reel that criticised actor Kiara Advani’s behaviour during a flight, as alleged by a social media user. Screenshots of the repost quickly circulated online, triggering discussions and speculation about the singer’s intent behind sharing the content.


The original video was uploaded by Instagram user Kartikey Tiwari, who narrated an experience while travelling from Jaipur to Mumbai with his mother and brother. Tiwari claimed he was seated in business class when Kiara Advani and actor Kartik Aaryan, who were reportedly returning after film promotions, happened to be on the same flight. According to him, a brief seating mix-up resulted in his mother occupying Advani’s assigned seat. Although the issue was resolved promptly, Tiwari alleged that Advani’s facial expression afterwards appeared unpleasant.

As per the influencer’s account, his mother immediately moved to her correct seat once a flight attendant pointed out the mistake. However, he said the expression on Advani’s face left a lasting impression on him. Tiwari also commented on Kartik Aaryan’s demeanour during the journey and claimed that both actors declined a post-landing photo request from a member of the cabin crew, citing that they were in a hurry.

Karan Aujla’s repost of the reel soon drew attention across platforms such as Instagram, Reddit and X (formerly Twitter), with fans debating why a popular Punjabi singer would share such content. While some users viewed the repost as a light-hearted or relatable reaction, others suggested it may have been an accidental share, noting that Instagram’s repost feature is relatively new and still unfamiliar to many users.

Comments from social media users captured this mix of reactions. One person joked that Aujla might have reposted the reel because he had himself “faced” something similar, while another suggested it could simply have been a mistake or misunderstanding linked to the platform’s interface.

Interestingly, the repost no longer appears on Aujla’s Instagram account, leading many to conclude that it was taken down soon after being shared. At this point, neither Aujla nor Advani has publicly addressed the incident or responded directly to the online discussion it generated.
