Kartik Aaryan-Ananya Panday’s Rom-Com 'Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri' Faces Slow Start Amid Christmas Clash
Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday ’s romantic comedy ' Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri ' is heading for a modest opening at the domestic box office. Despite the festive Christmas release, the film appears to be struggling due to tough competition, limited screen availability, and fewer shows in major centres.
According to early estimates by Sacnilk, the film has collected around Rs 1.81 crore through advance bookings so far. Nearly 47,000 tickets have been sold across 2,713 shows, and when blocked seats are included, the total advance booking value rises to approximately Rs 2.83 crore.
Directed by Sameer Vidwans, the rom-com is finding it hard to make its presence felt amid the strong box office run of Ranveer Singh’s 'Dhurandhar' and James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash. Both films have dominated premium screens and show timings across the country, leaving limited room for newer releases to expand.
The challenge is even more visible in urban markets, where 'Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri' has been allotted fewer shows. Although advance bookings opened recently, early trends suggest the film may struggle to cross the Rs 10 crore mark on Day 1. Current projections point towards an opening closer to Rs 5 crore net, if momentum doesn’t improve.
Looking at Kartik Aaryan’s box office history, the actor has seen mixed results. While 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' opened strongly at Rs 36 crore and 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' began with Rs 14 crore, most of his other releases have recorded openings below Rs 10 crore. Initially, industry expectations pegged this rom-com at around Rs 9 crore, but the numbers now suggest a more restrained start.
With stiff competition and limited showcasing, all eyes are now on word of mouth to see if the film can pick up pace over the holiday weekend.
