What was meant to be a festive release has instead turned into an online flashpoint for Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri , with Kartik Aaryan ’s dance to Saajanji Ghar Aaye drawing sharp reactions from viewers. After drawing flak for recreating Saat Samundar Paar, the movie is now facing fresh backlash over a scene where Kartik dances to Salman Khan ’s iconic Saajanji Ghar Aaye. For many viewers, nostalgia has clearly outweighed novelty.

Soon after the first shows, clips from the film began circulating widely on social media. One particular video caught attention, showing Kartik making a dramatic entry at a function as Saajanji Ghar Aaye plays in the background. The song, originally picturised on Salman Khan and Kajol in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, holds a special place in pop culture. In the scene, Kartik is later joined by Ananya Panday, and the two groove together on the familiar track.

However, the internet was quick to compare Kartik’s performance with Salman Khan’s original. Side-by-side comparison videos flooded timelines, and many users felt the recreation failed to capture the charm, swagger, and effortless appeal that made the song iconic.

“#KartikAaryan please stop ruining our iconic songs and dance steps. You can't even matched 1 Percent of #SalmanKhan's Swag and Persona,” one user wrote. Another reacted sharply, saying, “Wtf they remade Sajan ji ghar aaye in that tu meri s**t????”

Frustration over repeated remakes also surfaced. “Bhai har movie me remake and remix? Its annoying now,” one comment read, while another simply stated, “salman always best.” A fan remarked, “Beta tum se na ho payega… bhai.ki baat alag hai (You won’t be able to do it. There’s something special about bhai).”

The criticism continued with blunt reactions like “Worst version,” “Unmatched and Irreplaceable,” and “Bhai is far better than kartik. No one can match that level.” One social media user even commented, “Salman & Shahrukh should get copyrights for their hit song.”

Directed by Sameer Vidwans, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri stars Ananya Panday alongside Jackie Shroff and Neena Gupta and is backed by Dharma Productions . Despite its glossy visuals and seasoned supporting cast, the film has struggled to strike an emotional chord. As one review summed it up, “TMMTMTTM is a scenic postcard with no message written on the back.” For many viewers, the controversy around song recreations has only added to the film’s growing list of challenges.
