In a candid conversation, Munmun reflected on her long journey with the show and admitted that with so many episodes over the years, it is hard to remember every scene clearly. Still, she said some moments remain unforgettable simply because of the laughter and madness that unfolds during filming.

“I’ve forgotten so many things. It’s been 17 years. We’ve done so many scenes. Oh, they are very funny,” she said, while recalling the fun atmosphere on set.

Behind-the-scenes madness fans don’t see

Munmun hinted that the behind-the-scenes footage could surprise viewers if it ever came out. According to her, there is a lot of uncontrollable laughter, unexpected bloopers, and spontaneous reactions that never make it to the final edit.

“I often say that if the BTS of the show is ever released, it’s wild,” she added, suggesting that what happens off-camera might be even more entertaining than what audiences see on television.

For fans, the Babita-Jethalal scenes remain one of the biggest highlights of the show. The interactions between the two characters have become iconic over time, often trending online and staying popular even years after they aired. Munmun’s comments suggest that the charm comes from both performance and the friendly comfort actors share while shooting.

Improvisation plays a huge role

The actress also shared that many of the funniest scenes are shaped during script readings, where actors add their own touch before the camera starts rolling. This on-the-spot creativity often makes the comedy feel more natural and spontaneous, which is exactly what viewers love about the show.

“Imagine we are about to perform a scene; before that, we conduct a scene reading. During this, we add our own elements, taking it in a completely different direction,” she explained.

The “Bhootni” track still stands out

Munmun also spoke about the popular “Bhootni” storyline, which is still remembered as one of the most dramatic and entertaining arcs of the sitcom. The track involved long shoots, late-night schedules, and eerie scenes, but she insisted that there was nothing frightening on set.

“People say there is negative energy or ghosts, but I never felt anything. I can walk comfortably even in the dark,” she said confidently.

Since its debut in 2008, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has remained a favourite across generations. With its light-hearted humour, relatable situations, and memorable character moments, the show continues to hold a special place in Indian television. Munmun’s behind-the-scenes insights only add to the curiosity, reminding fans why TMKOC still feels fresh even after all these years.
