O Romeo, the much-anticipated gangster-romance thriller featuring Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri, has begun its theatrical run with substantial buzz, as early reviews from screenings flood in. According to first reactions shared by film personalities and industry insiders, Shahid delivers what some are calling his best performance yet, while Triptii has been applauded for a striking combination of ferocity and innocence in her portrayal.

The first reactions came from a special industry screening ahead of the film’s release on 13 February 2026. Filmmaker Homi Adajania, who attended the event, described the movie as a visceral blend of love and gore, and praised Vishal Bhardwaj’s storytelling, emphasising Shahid’s strong presence and calling Triptii “so watchable.”

Shahid’s wife, Mira Rajput, also took to Instagram to share her enthusiastic response. In a heartfelt note, she applauded Shahid’s performance as “his best yet” and expressed how impressed she was with the film’s background score and ensemble cast.
