Pawan Singh Seeks Police Help Amid Rising Bishnoi Gang Threats After Salman Event
Bhojpuri actor Pawan Singh has approached Mumbai Police after his team allegedly received serious threats from unidentified callers claiming to be associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The threats reportedly warned the actor against sharing a stage or screen space with Bollywood star Salman Khan , raising concerns over his safety.
Police Confirm Complaint, Inquiry Underway
Mumbai Police have confirmed receiving a formal complaint in the matter. Deputy Commissioner of Police Dixit Gedam said on Monday that the application has been taken on record and appropriate action will be initiated after a detailed inquiry. Police officials are currently verifying the origin and intent of the calls.
Threat Calls Target Actor’s Team
The complaint was lodged by Pawan Singh’s manager, who claimed she began receiving threatening phone calls from last Saturday. According to an official from Oshiwara police station, the unknown caller repeatedly claimed links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and warned that the actor should not work with or be seen alongside Salman Khan.
The threats allegedly went beyond verbal warnings. The caller is also said to have demanded money, escalating the seriousness of the situation. Another member of Singh’s team reportedly received similar calls, prompting the manager to seek police protection for the actor.
Connection To Salman Khan Raises Alarm
Pawan Singh previously participated as a contestant on the reality show Bigg Boss , hosted by Salman Khan. Investigators believe this association may have triggered the threats, though no direct link has yet been established.
Lawrence Bishnoi, currently lodged in Gujarat’s Sabarmati Jail in a drugs-related case, has had a long-running feud with Salman Khan. The hostility dates back to the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, as the Bishnoi community reveres the animal.
Bishnoi is also an accused in the killing of Punjabi singer-politician Sidhu Moosewala. Mumbai Police earlier suspected his involvement in the murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique in October 2024.
Anmol Bishnoi Under Scanner
Lawrence Bishnoi’s younger brother, Anmol Bishnoi, was recently deported from the US and taken into custody by the NIA in Delhi. He is suspected of orchestrating multiple high-profile crimes, including the firing outside Salman Khan’s residence in April 2024.
Police continue to investigate the threats against Pawan Singh as security concerns around celebrities remain high.
