At this pace, Dhurandhar is all set to storm into the top 10 highest-grossing Indian films of all time. On Wednesday, it is expected to overtake global totals of Secret Superstar, Animal, and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The Rs 1,000 crore worldwide mark now looks less like a target and more like an inevitability.

The Aditya Dhar directorial has already surpassed the lifetime global collection of Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, which ended its run at Rs 807.91 crore. Audience pull remains strong too, on Sunday, the film recorded an impressive overall occupancy of 61.89% across 5,332 shows.

If Dhurandhar crosses Rs 1,000 crore, it will mark a first in Ranveer Singh’s 15-year career. Even his iconic hits Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat had wrapped up at around Rs 357 crore and Rs 585 crore respectively, making this run truly career-defining.

The film’s smooth run was further aided when Ikkis, starring Agastya Nanda and directed by Sriram Raghavan, postponed its release to January 1. While Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri may offer some competition, Dhurandhar continues to dominate with ease.

Set in Pakistan, the film follows an Indian spy infiltrating the dangerous Lyari gangs in the early 2000s. Inspired by true events, Dhurandhar boasts a powerful ensemble cast including Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi. With gripping storytelling and unwavering box office strength, Dhurandhar is proving to be one of the strongest theatrical performers of the year.
