Salman Khan Shoots Patriotic Song For Battle Of Galwan In Mumbai
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has been filming his much-anticipated war drama, Battle of Galwan, since September 2025. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film began its shoot amid the scenic landscapes of Ladakh and has now moved to Mumbai for its next production leg, which started on October 10.
According to reports, the team is currently working on one of the most emotional sequences of the movie - a patriotic song that forms the heart of the film.
A production insider revealed to Mid-Day that the track being filmed is “a rousing military anthem with a deep emotional core.” Unlike a typical Bollywood celebration number, this song focuses on the spirit of sacrifice and resilience.
“The mood is patriotic and the song reflects the pride, sacrifice, and pain of the soldiers. Salman and the director were clear that it should feel organic to the story,” said the insider.
The song reportedly features over 60 background artistes, with the focus primarily on Salman’s character’s emotions rather than choreography. Filming for the sequence is expected to continue throughout the week.
Battle of Galwan is inspired by the India-China military confrontation in 2020 in the Galwan Valley. The film aims to bring to life the human stories and sacrifices behind one of the most significant military episodes in recent Indian history.
Actress Chitrangda Singh plays a key supporting role, adding depth to the narrative.
In an earlier interview with India Today, Salman opened up about the physical challenges of filming in Ladakh.
“It’s slow, I’m not feeling it yet. But I will especially I feel the cold water, that’s for sure. I am definitely feeling it since shooting in Ladakh,” he joked.
Despite the tough conditions, Salman’s dedication to the project remains evident, especially in emotionally charged sequences like the latest song.
Before Battle of Galwan, Salman made a cameo appearance in Aryan Khan’s Netflix series The Ba**ds of Bollywood*, which generated plenty of buzz online.
