Singer Flipperachi Hints at Return in Part 2 of Akshaye Khanna’s ‘Dhurandhar’ Song Fa9la
Not every moment that lingers after a film ends is driven by visuals alone. Sometimes, a background track quietly slips into public memory and becomes a phenomenon of its own. Fa9la , the song that accompanies Akshaye Khanna ’s striking introduction in Dhurandhar, has done just that. Even weeks after the film’s release, the track continues to trend across platforms, and its creator has now hinted that its story may continue in the sequel.
Bahrain-based singer-producer Flipperachi , whose real name is Hussam Aseem, has opened up about the overwhelming response the song has received and how dramatically things have changed since Fa9la became part of the film.
Speaking about the sudden attention, Flipperachi said, “To be honest, it’s crazy. My DMs are blowing up every single day. I cannot keep up with the people that are just tagging me for the song and enjoying and vibing with it. So it’s been a crazy, crazy time.”
The song was used as the entry theme for Akshaye Khanna’s character, Rehman Dakait, and quickly emerged as one of the film’s most memorable elements. Its raw, gritty sound added an extra layer to the character’s presence, helping the sequence stand out even in a film packed with intense action and dramatic moments.
As anticipation builds around Dhurandhar 2 , fans have been eager to know whether Flipperachi will return with another track for the sequel. While he avoided a direct confirmation, his response has only added to the excitement. Addressing the possibility, the singer said there “might be something.”
“I was going to keep it a surprise, but I guess there’s something. I wouldn’t want to tell you everything about it, but yeah, there might be something, yes,” he added, setting off fresh speculation among fans closely following updates about the sequel.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar features an ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, and Manav Gohil. The film delves into covert intelligence operations woven around major real-life incidents such as the Kandahar plane hijack, the 2001 Parliament attack, and the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
The sequel, Dhurandhar 2, is scheduled to release on March 19 and will hit theatres in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
Meanwhile, Dhurandhar continues to enjoy a remarkable box office run. Released on December 5, the film created history by becoming the only Hindi movie to register double-digit collections for 28 consecutive days. According to Sacnilk.com, it has so far earned Rs 781.75 crore nett in India.
