One Piece is one of the longest running anime and over the years, One Piece has introduced a large number of characters to its storyline with many of the important characters coming from important bloodlines. Here are the top 5 of them:

Neptune royal family

Even in One Piece's preliminary East Blue Saga, the series makes it clear that Fish-Men and Merfolk are a major presence around the world. However, over time, it's become clear that the Royal Family of Fish-Man Island holds the key to the future of the Grand Line in their hands.

Shirahoshi who is the princess of Fish-Man Island wields the power to control the world's Sea Kings, giving her immense power should she ever choose to wield it. This power, which makes the princess the modern incarnation of the Ancient Weapon Poseidon, is inherent to the Neptune Royal Family and a major reason why their significance extends far past the borders of Fish-Man Island.

Neferati family

Recently, One Piece has finally started to peel the layers back on ancient history, showcasing the long-term effects that groups like the Nefertari Family have had on the Grand Line. Based on recent statements from Imu, Nefertari D. Vivi's ancestor, Nefertari D. Lily, was one of the most important characters during the Void Century and the formation of the World Government.

Gol D. Roger and Portgas D. Ace

One Piece introduces hundreds of pirates in its story, but so far, none have played a more prominent role in the Grand Line than Gol D. Roger. The King of the Pirates gave birth to a brand-new era of piracy while laying the groundwork for characters like Monkey D. Luffy to begin their own journeys.

Monkey family

Perhaps no One Piece family has produced more differing results than that of the series' protagonist, Monkey D. Luffy. In three generations, the Monkey Family has spawned (1) the fastest-rising pirate of the modern era, (2) the leader of the Revolutionary Army, and (3) the most heroic Marine of all time. Altogether, this makes them the most important family in the series that doesn't have a history that dates back centuries.

It remains to be seen if more members of Luffy's family emerge in One Piece's final saga (his mother's identity has been a common point of speculation for years). Regardless, the Monkey family is poised for a dramatic final chapter that could finally unify — or destroy — their respective parties.

Davy clan

For many years, Blackbeard was one of One Piece's biggest enigmas. The Emperor of the Sea's ability to wield multiple Devil Fruit powers and transfer others to his crew defied logic, and while Eiichiro Oda has yet to fully explain this phenomenon, the series' creator has finally revealed what makes Marshall D. Teach so unique in the first place.

As revealed in the Elbaph Arc, Blackbeard hails from the Davy Clan, giving him a direct connection to not only his father, Rocks D. Xebec, but also the mysterious historical figure known as Davy Jones. Considering the impact of Blackbeard and Rocks, as well as the strange connection between Davy Jones and Imu, there is currently no bloodline in One Piece that is more important than that of the Davy Clan, which makes it all the more interesting to see what the Blackbeard Pirates' vision for the future truly is.
