Fans of Grand Theft Auto VI are being encouraged to ignore a wave of recent leaks surrounding the much-anticipated game, and for good reason. Rockstar Games ’ next entry in the iconic franchise is arguably one of the most awaited video games in history. While each GTA title generates immense excitement, GTA VI carries an unprecedented level of anticipation.

Even before Rockstar officially released the first trailer for GTA VI in December 2023, early gameplay footage and unverified details had been circulating across social media platforms. Most of these leaks originated from an early build of the game—far from a representation of the polished final product.

“Trust Rockstar and Ignore the Leaks”

Despite the temptation to follow every new rumor or unofficial clip, the community has been vocal about resisting this trend. As Reddit user Pistoluislero put it, “Trust Rockstar and ignore the leaks.” The sentiment is simple: don’t take unconfirmed content at face value, especially when the source is uncertain.

“People keep overreacting to every new GTA VI leak or rumour, and I get it. But Rockstar has earned our trust. They’ve delivered time and time again, and there’s no reason to worry about anything,” they added.

They concluded: “ GTA VI isn’t just going to be a great game. It’s going to change gaming forever. I fully believe that. Leaks are just noise. I’m not worried at all. I trust Rockstar, and you should too.”

Skepticism Among Fans

While blind trust in any major company can be a debated stance, many agree that Rockstar has a track record of consistently delivering high-quality games. Others in the community shared their perspectives on the situation.

“I don't understand the people on this sub. Leaks are meant to be speculative until proven fake or real,” wrote Redditor ToppleToes. “It blows my mind how this sub takes every leak as a fact, even if it comes from a well-known source, it's still a leak, not a fact.”

BDRParty echoed the call for skepticism, especially regarding inflated leak claims. “I would also keep expectations in check when reading some of these 'leaked' details,” they wrote. “Like claiming around 700 shops? I'm sure there will be a ton, but 700 sounds humorously exaggerated for the sake of it.”

For others, Rockstar’s past successes—such as Red Dead Redemption 2—speak volumes. “Like FromSoftware, I trust Rockstar completely. Red Dead Redemption 2 is an absolute masterpiece, and the fact that it was made seven years ago tells me this game is going to blow us all out of the water. Rockstar Games is the king of this industry,” commented ProfessionalKey8908.

What We Know So Far

Grand Theft Auto VI is officially scheduled for release on May 26, 2026, and will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. As of now, Rockstar Games has not confirmed any additional details or content beyond the initial trailer and announcement.

Until then, fans are encouraged to wait for verified information and to treat all leaks—no matter how convincing—with healthy skepticism.
