Banks across multiple regions in India will remain closed on June 6 and June 7, 2025, in observance of Eid-ul-Ad’ha (Bakrid). According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI)’s holiday calendar, both public and private sector banks will suspend operations on these days in various states. In addition, June 8 (Sunday) will also be a non-working day due to the regular weekly closure.


Bank customers are advised to check the RBI’s holiday schedule to confirm closures in their respective states, as holidays can vary based on local customs, regional observances, and religious significance.

June 2025 Bank Holiday Schedule

June 6 (Friday)
  • Banks in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi will be closed for Bakrid, an Islamic festival that honors Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion and willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God’s command.

June 7 (Saturday)
  • Most banks across India will observe a holiday for Bakrid, except for those in:
    • Ahmedabad
    • Gangtok
    • Itanagar
    • Kochi
    • Thiruvananthapuram
    • These cities will continue normal banking operations as it is the first Saturday of the month (only second and fourth Saturdays are official bank holidays).

June 8 (Sunday)
  • All banks across the country will be closed due to the regular Sunday holiday.


Will Online Banking Be Affected?

No, digital banking services will continue as usual. Customers can conduct financial transactions via:
  • Internet Banking
  • Mobile Banking
  • UPI (Unified Payments Interface)

Additionally, services such as NEFT, RTGS, cheque book requests, demand drafts, and debit/credit card management will remain available through online channels even during the bank holiday period.
