Delhi court staffer jumps to death citing "work pressure"; colleagues stage protest
New Delhi [India], January 9 (ANI): A protest was staged outside the Saket court in the national capital on Friday after a court staff member died by alleged suicide by jumping from a building in the Saket court complex according to the Saket Court Secretary.
Anil Basoya, Secretary, Saket Court told ANI, "At around 10 AM, everyone got the news that our court staff, Ahlmad Harish, had jumped from a floor. He is in a serious condition, and it is clear that he might not survive."
The protestors raised "Justice for Harish" slogans outside the court.
Members of the court staff and the BAR Association participated in the protest to show their support and ask for justice in the case.
"The entire BAR association is also with the court staff... We are here to demand justice for Harish," said Basoya.
"We want justice for him and everyone's voice to be heard. They should personally come and talk to people about their problems, so that no colleague in future takes such a step," she said.
The deceased was identified as Parvinder Singh, a resident of Lajpat Nagar.
He had stayed at the hotel during Christmas. He went to the Le Meridien hotel this afternoon, took the elevator, and jumped from a floor, police said.. (ANI)
