Dense Fog Brings Train Travel to a Halt: Over 20 Services Cancelled Until February

The bitter winter chill and thick fog have brought daily life to a near standstill in parts of India. Roads are crawling with slow-moving vehicles, and trains have been forced to stop, causing major disruptions for long-distance travelers. Morning commuters in Delhi-NCR are struggling with extremely low visibility, making travel a challenge.

Fog Hits Indian Railways Hard

Dense fog is not just slowing traffic, it’s wreaking havoc on rail operations too. With visibility dropping to just a few meters during early mornings and late evenings, trains are moving at much slower speeds. Safety concerns have forced Indian Railways to cancel over 20 trains, while many others are running hours behind schedule. Travelers are facing extended delays and disrupted plans.

Cancellations to Continue for Days

These cancellations aren’t short-term. Several trains will remain off the tracks until the end of February, with some resuming service in early March. Passengers with booked tickets are advised to either postpone travel or seek alternative routes.
