Doorstep Life Certificate: How Seniors Can Submit Jeevan Pramaan Without Visiting A Bank

Pensioners are required to file an annual life certificate to ensure their pension continues without disruption. For the current cycle, seniors aged 80 and above can submit their Aadhaar-based Digital Life Certificate (DLC) from 1 October to 30 November 2025, while those aged 60 to 79 can submit between 1 and 30 November 2025. Filing within your allotted window prevents delays or pauses in pension disbursement.

Two Doorstep Options for DLC Submission

Pensioners can conveniently use doorstep services to generate their DLC without visiting a branch:

  1. PSB Alliance Doorstep Banking Services – Public Sector Banks send agents to capture the DLC. For senior citizens, the service is free.
  2. India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) – Provides a doorstep DLC service even for non-IPPB account holders. A nominal fee of ₹70 (inclusive of GST/cess) applies, but there is no separate charge for the home visit.

How to Request a Visit via India Post

You can request a postman or Grameen Dak Sevak visit through your nearest post office, the Post Info app, or the Department of Posts portal ccc.cept.gov.in . Keep your Aadhaar-linked mobile number active for OTP verification. The agent will capture your biometrics, generate your Pramaan ID, and issue the DLC digitally. You will receive an SMS with the transaction ID, and the certificate can be downloaded from jeevanpramaan.gov.in

Booking PSB Alliance Doorstep Banking

  1. Download the DSB app, register your mobile number, and log in using PIN/OTP.
  2. Select your bank, enter your service PIN code, and verify doorstep availability.
  3. Choose your linked account (service is free for seniors), pick “Life Certificate/DLC”, confirm address and time, and submit.
  4. You will receive a Service Request (SR) ID and Service Verification Code; the visiting agent completes e-KYC/biometrics and files your DLC.

Documents and Details to Keep Ready

  • Aadhaar must be seeded with the pension disbursing agency.
  • Ensure your mobile number linked to Aadhaar is active.
  • Keep pension details handy: type of pension, sanctioning authority, disbursing agency, PPO number, and pension account number.
  • Name, DOB, and ID numbers must exactly match bank and Aadhaar records to avoid rejection during biometric capture.

After Submitting the DLC

Once the DLC is generated, you will get an SMS with the transaction reference. The certificate can be downloaded from jeevanpramaan.gov.in .The DLC is sent electronically to the pension disbursing authority, eliminating the need to visit the branch unless additional verification is required. Keep a copy of the PDF and SMS reference for records until the next pension is credited.

Tips to Avoid Delays

  • Schedule the doorstep request early to allow time for a revisit if biometrics fail.
  • Ensure fingers are clean and dry for Aadhaar authentication.
  • Update your Aadhaar-linked mobile number if changed.
  • Confirm a few days later that the DLC status shows as “received” with the disbursing bank or post office.

FAQs

1. Do I have to be present for the doorstep DLC?

Yes, biometric authentication (fingerprint/iris/face) must be done in person. Family members can assist with documents and app steps.

2. What if my mobile number is old or biometrics fail?

Update your Aadhaar-linked mobile number. If fingerprints are worn, try multiple fingers, clean/dry hands, or use iris/face authentication. You can reschedule if needed.

3. Do I need multiple DLCs for multiple pensions?

Yes, a separate DLC is required for each pension/PPO and disbursing authority. Keep a list of PPO numbers and generate/download each DLC.
