Abhey Singh, widely known as ‘IITian Baba’, has once again captured public attention. After going viral for his spiritual journey following an elite education at IIT Bombay, he is now making headlines for a deeply personal reason. He has gotten married, and the internet cannot stop talking about it.

A simple wedding rooted in devotion

Abhey Singh tied the knot with Pratika on February 15, 2026, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri. The wedding took place at the Aghanjar Mahadev Temple in Himachal Pradesh, reflecting the couple’s spiritual inclination and preference for a simple life.

A few days later, on February 19, the couple formalised their union through a court marriage. The ceremonies were kept intimate, away from public glare. However, the calm did not last long.

On March 6, Abhey and Pratika visited Jhajjar in Haryana to meet his family and complete some bank-related work. Their visit created a buzz among locals, with many gathering just to catch a glimpse of the ‘IITian Baba’ and his wife. Videos from the visit soon went viral, showing Abhey in saffron robes alongside Pratika as they signed documents and spent time at his father’s chamber.

Who is Pratika

Pratika, who hails from Mangaluru, Karnataka, shares a similar academic background with Abhey as an engineer. Their connection reportedly began about a year ago, possibly at Sadhguru’s Adiyogi ashram in Coimbatore, where they bonded over shared values, spirituality, and a vision for a meaningful life.

Despite the sudden attention, Pratika has chosen to remain low-key. In social media interactions, she described Abhey as “simple, honest, and sincere,” offering a glimpse into their relationship.

The couple now lives in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, embracing a lifestyle that reflects minimalism and inner peace. Abhey himself mentioned in a media statement that they lead “a very simple, minimalist life.”

The journey of ‘IITian Baba’

Abhey Singh’s story continues to fascinate people across the country. Born in Sasroli village in Jhajjar, Haryana, he showed academic brilliance early on. He secured an All India Rank of 731 in JEE Mains in 2008 and went on to study aerospace engineering at IIT Bombay from 2008 to 2012. He later pursued a Master’s in Design.

After completing his education, Abhey worked in New Delhi and later moved to Canada, where he reportedly earned around Rs 3 lakh per month or 36 LPA at an aerospace firm. Yet, despite professional success, he felt drawn towards something deeper.

His time spent in places like Shimla, Mussoorie, and Dharamshala played a key role in shaping his outlook on life. Eventually, he chose to step away from a conventional career path and embraced spirituality.

He rose to prominence during the Mahakumbh in 2025, where his appearance in ascetic attire and his views on life sparked widespread debate and curiosity online. His journey, blending science and spirituality, resonated with many and made him a viral figure.

Family ties and distance

Abhey’s father, advocate Karan Grewal, who is also a former president of the Jhajjar Bar Association, has spoken openly about his son’s journey. In an interview, he shared, “Our family wishes Abhey to return home. But after achieving so much, it's not easy for him to come back. After that, he decided to become a sanyasi.”

He added, “He was always interested in spirituality. I was in contact with him until six months ago. After that, he blocked me and all communication with me. I heard he was in Haridwar and wanted to visit him but couldn't, and now he has gone viral in the media.”

What lies ahead

Now stepping into married life, Abhey and Pratika are also working on a shared vision for the future. According to Abhey, they are developing an initiative called “Shree University.”

Speaking about their plans, he said they aim to create a space that brings together spiritual practices, reconnects people with knowledge, and promotes Sanatan Dharma under one roof.

From IIT classrooms to spiritual paths, and now to married life, Abhey Singh’s journey continues to evolve in unexpected ways. With Pratika by his side, this new chapter seems to reflect not just companionship, but a shared purpose rooted in simplicity, learning, and inner growth.
