Indian Railways Lets Passengers Check Ticket Status 10 Hours in Advance

Indian Railways has taken a big step to make train travel less stressful. Passengers can now check their ticket status up to 10 hours before departure, thanks to a revised schedule for preparing the first reservation chart.

Why the Change?

Earlier, reservation charts were prepared only four hours before train departure, leaving passengers, especially those on waiting lists, anxious until the last minute. The new timings aim to reduce uncertainty and help travelers plan their journeys more smoothly.

New Chart Preparation Timings

Trains departing between 5:00 am and 2:00 pm: First chart prepared by 8:00 pm the previous day
Trains departing between 2:01 pm and 11:59 pm, and 12:00 midnight to 5:00 am: First chart prepared 10 hours before departure

This update ensures that passengers get clearer information about their reservation status well in advance, allowing for better travel planning.
