Route 1: Lipulekh Pass, Uttarakhand

The first route takes pilgrims through Lipulekh Pass, offering views of the rugged Himalayan terrain of Uttarakhand.

  • Capacity: 10 batches of 50 pilgrims each
  • Departure points: Delhi or Dharchula
Pilgrims travelling through this route will cross into China via Lipulekh Pass.


Route 2: Nathu La Pass, Sikkim

The second route passes through the scenic mountain landscapes of Sikkim via Nathu La.

  • Capacity: 10 batches of 50 pilgrims each
  • Departure points: Delhi or Gangtok
This route is also expected to attract a large number of devotees because of its accessibility and breathtaking views.


Registration Process and Total Number of Pilgrims

Interested applicants for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2026 will need to register online through the official website and submit their applications digitally.

According to the ministry statement, a total of 20 batches comprising 2,000 pilgrims will undertake the yatra this year. Each batch will include 50 yatris, with 10 batches travelling via Lipulekh Pass and 10 batches through Nathu La Pass.


With the number of applicants expected to rise, many are also watching for possible hiked travel costs and related expenses, although the ministry has not yet announced any hiked price details.
