Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2026 Registration Begins: Check Routes, Dates and Pilgrim Capacity
The Ministry of External Affairs has officially announced the schedule for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. Organised in coordination with the Chinese government, the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2026 will take place from June to August.
This year’s pilgrimage comes with renewed interest among devotees, especially after the yatra resumed recently following improving bilateral ties between India and China.
According to the ministry statement, a total of 20 batches comprising 2,000 pilgrims will undertake the yatra this year. Each batch will include 50 yatris, with 10 batches travelling via Lipulekh Pass and 10 batches through Nathu La Pass.
With the number of applicants expected to rise, many are also watching for possible hiked travel costs and related expenses, although the ministry has not yet announced any hiked price details.
The reopening came particularly after troop disengagement along the border, which created the conditions necessary for the resumption of this important pilgrimage.
For thousands of devotees, the return of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra marked the revival of one of the most spiritually significant journeys in the region.
