The Gujarat government has announced a major financial push aimed at strengthening girls’ education through the Namo Laxmi Yojana . Under this initiative, financial assistance worth ₹1,250 crore will be distributed among more than 12 lakh girl students during the 2025–26 academic year. The Namo Laxmi Yojana offers structured financial assistance over four academic years, covering Classes 9 to 12. Each eligible girl student can receive up to ₹50,000 during this period. The support is carefully divided to reward attendance, academic progression, and successful completion of board examinations. This approach not only provides financial relief but also encourages consistency in schooling.

The scheme applies to students enrolled in schools affiliated with the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board as well as the Central Board of Secondary Education. Importantly, students who are already receiving other government scholarships are not excluded, ensuring wider coverage and inclusivity.

Class-Wise Breakdown Of Financial Assistance

For students in Classes 9 and 10, the scheme provides total support of ₹20,000. This includes a monthly assistance of ₹500 for 10 months, linked to attendance. The remaining ₹10,000 is released after the student successfully clears the Class 10 board examination.

For Classes 11 and 12, the total assistance increases to ₹30,000. Eligible students receive ₹750 per month for 10 months each academic year. The final instalment of ₹15,000 is paid after passing the Class 12 examination. This staggered payment structure is aimed at reducing dropout rates during critical academic years.

Beyond education, the Namo Laxmi Yojana also seeks to address broader adolescent development. The application process for the Namo Laxmi Yojana is school-based, making it accessible for students and parents.
