What Is PM Kisan Yojana?

The PM Kisan scheme provides financial support of Rs 6,000 per year to eligible landholding farmer families. The amount is transferred directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 each.

Why eKYC Is Mandatory

Completing eKYC is essential to receive payments under the scheme. Without it, the installment may not be credited. Farmers can complete OTP-based eKYC online through the PM Kisan portal or opt for biometric eKYC at the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC).

How to Complete PM Kisan eKYC Online

Farmers can easily update their eKYC from home by following these steps:
  • Visit the official PM Kisan website.
  • Go to the Farmers Corner section and click on eKYC.
  • Enter your Aadhaar number and select Search.
  • Provide the mobile number linked to Aadhaar and click Get OTP.
  • Enter the OTP to complete the process.

eKYC Through Face Authentication

Farmers can also use face authentication via mobile phones:
  • Download the PM-KISAN app and Aadhaar Face RD app.
  • Log in using your registered mobile number.
  • Visit the Beneficiary Status page.
  • If eKYC shows “No,” select the eKYC option and enter your Aadhaar number.
  • Allow the face scan to complete verification.

Steps to Avoid Missing the Next Installment

To ensure timely payment, farmers should:
  • Complete eKYC before the deadline.
  • Link Aadhaar with their bank account.
  • Keep land records and registration details updated.
  • Obtain a Farmer ID if it is mandatory in their state.

Who May Face Payment Delays?

Certain cases may lead to payment suspension:
  • Farmers who purchased land after February 1, 2019.
  • Multiple members of the same family receiving benefits, such as both spouses or adult relatives.
In such situations, payments remain on hold until physical verification is completed.

How to Check Eligibility Status

Farmers can check their eligibility and payment status using the Know Your Status (KYS) feature on the PM Kisan website or mobile app. They can also seek assistance through the Kisan eMitra chatbot.

With the 22nd installment expected soon, farmers are advised to complete all required formalities in advance to avoid any disruption in receiving the financial support.
