Good news could soon arrive for more than nine crore farmers across India as the next instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme moves closer. Eligible beneficiaries are expected to receive ₹2,000 as part of the 22nd instalment. While the government has not yet confirmed an official release date, indications suggest that the payment may be credited after the Union Budget is presented. Farmers are now being advised to verify their names in the village beneficiary list to avoid last-minute issues.

22nd Instalment Expected After Budget Presentation

The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana continues to be a crucial income support scheme for small and marginal farmers. Under the programme, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 annually in three equal instalments. The upcoming 22nd instalment is due in February, though expectations of an early release before the budget appear unlikely. As per current indications, farmers may need to wait until the final week of February to receive the next ₹2,000 payment.

The previous instalment was transferred from Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, and there is growing anticipation that the next announcement could again come from a southern state. However, farmers should note that no official confirmation has been issued regarding the exact date.

Why Several Beneficiaries Were Removed Earlier

Ahead of the 21st instalment, over 30 lakh beneficiaries reportedly saw their names removed from the PM Kisan list. This followed the identification of irregularities during verification. In several cases, both husband and wife from the same household were found receiving benefits, which is not permitted under scheme guidelines. There were also instances where instalments were being credited to accounts linked to minor family members.

Due to these discrepancies, payments for such beneficiaries were halted, and physical verification was initiated. With the 22nd instalment approaching, farmers are strongly advised to check their beneficiary status in advance to avoid missing out.

How Farmers Can Check the PM Kisan Village List

Farmers can easily verify their inclusion by checking the village beneficiary list on the official PM Kisan portal. After opening the website, users need to select the Beneficiary List option. On the next screen, they must choose their state, district, sub-district, block, and village. Once these details are filled in, clicking on Get Report will display the full list of beneficiaries for that village.

This list helps farmers confirm whether their names are approved for the upcoming instalment and ensures transparency at the village level.

What To Do If Your Name Is Missing

If a farmer does not find their name in the village list, there is no need to panic immediately. The portal also provides a Know Your Status option, where beneficiaries can check individual account details using their registration number and OTP sent to their registered mobile number.

If the status does not show a green tick, it indicates pending issues such as incomplete e-KYC or verification errors. Many of these problems can still be resolved before the release of the 22nd instalment. Farmers may also visit their nearest agriculture department office for assistance if required.

What Farmers Should Keep In Mind Now

As February progresses, farmers should remain alert and proactive. Completing verification, ensuring correct bank details, and checking beneficiary status regularly can help avoid payment delays. With crores of farmers depending on this support, timely action at the individual level can make all the difference when the next PM Kisan instalment is released.
