Premium Fuel Prices Hiked: XP100 Petrol, Xtra Green Diesel, LPG and ATF Rates Rise

In a fresh fuel price update, Indian Oil Corporation has hiked prices of premium fuels in Delhi, including high-octane petrol and premium diesel variants. The latest revision reflects rising pressure from global crude oil volatility and increasing logistics costs.

This premium fuel price hike comes at a time when global energy markets remain unstable, impacting fuel prices across multiple categories.

XP100 Petrol Price Hiked to Rs 160 Per Litre

The price of XP100 petrol has been hiked from Rs 149 per litre to Rs 160 per litre, marking a significant increase in premium petrol rates.

Marketed as India’s first 100-octane fuel, XP100 petrol is specially designed for high-performance luxury cars and superbikes. It is known for improving engine efficiency and delivering better performance.

This XP100 petrol price hike highlights the growing cost of premium fuels amid changing global energy trends.

Xtra Green Diesel Price Also Increased

Alongside petrol, premium diesel prices have also been revised. Xtra Green diesel is now priced at Rs 92.99 per litre, compared to its earlier price of Rs 91.49.

This increase in Xtra Green diesel price reflects a broader trend of rising premium fuel prices in India. Even though the hike is smaller compared to XP100 petrol, it still adds to the overall fuel cost burden.

Why Premium Fuel Prices Are Being Hiked

While no official reason has been stated for the price revision, the premium fuel price hike is being linked to volatility in global crude oil markets.

Ongoing geopolitical tensions, particularly between the US and Iran, have disrupted energy supply chains and increased transportation costs. These factors are contributing to rising fuel prices in India.

The situation shows how global developments continue to influence domestic fuel pricing.

Commercial LPG Prices Hiked Sharply

In addition to premium fuels, commercial LPG prices have also been hiked significantly. A 19-kg LPG cylinder now costs Rs 2,078.50, up from Rs 1,768.50 on March 1.

This marks an increase of over Rs 300 since the escalation of the Middle East conflict. It is also the third LPG price hike since March and the fifth increase since the beginning of 2026.

The LPG price hike is expected to impact restaurants, hotels, and small businesses that depend on commercial cylinders for daily operations.

ATF Prices Surge Past Rs 2 Lakh Mark

Jet fuel prices, also known as aviation turbine fuel (ATF), have seen a sharp surge. In Delhi, ATF prices have more than doubled to Rs 2,07,341.22 per kilolitre from Rs 96,638.14 per kilolitre.

This is the first time ATF prices have crossed the Rs 2 lakh per kilolitre mark. Earlier, in 2022, prices had peaked at around Rs 1.1 lakh per kilolitre following the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

It is important to note that ATF prices had already been increased by 5.7 percent, or Rs 5,244.75 per kilolitre, on March 1.

This sharp ATF price hike could have a direct impact on airline operating costs and potentially lead to higher airfares.

Recent Fuel Price Hike by Hindustan Petroleum

The rise in premium fuel prices comes shortly after Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited increased the price of its premium petrol in Delhi.

The company raised rates by Rs 2 per litre, revising prices from Rs 99.87 to Rs 101.89 per litre. This indicates a broader trend of rising premium fuel prices across oil companies.

Relief for Consumers Despite Rising Fuel Costs

Even as premium fuel prices, LPG rates, and ATF costs continue to rise, there has been some relief for regular consumers.

On March 27, the government reduced excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 10 per litre each. This move was aimed at easing the burden on state-run oil companies and helping them manage losses while keeping retail fuel prices stable.

This step has helped keep petrol and diesel prices under control despite global oil price volatility.
