Summer Special Trains 2026 Announced: Check Routes, Timings and Details

With summer travel season in full swing, Indian Railways has introduced a series of special trains to handle the surge in passenger demand. Every year, routes connecting major cities witness heavy rush during holidays, and these additional services are designed to make travel smoother and more accessible.

The newly announced summer special trains will run on key routes connecting cities like Howrah, Khatipura, Kolkata, Madar Junction, Sabarmati BG, Asansol, Jabalpur, and Jodhpur. These trains will operate on selected dates and offer multiple travel classes to suit different passenger needs.

Khatipura–Howrah Summer Special

• Train No. 09707 (Khatipura to Howrah): Will depart at 5:00 pm on April 15, 22, and 29 and reach Howrah at 10:15 pm the following day.

• Train No. 09708 (Howrah to Khatipura): Will leave at 12:15 am on April 17, 24, and May 1 and arrive at 11:30 am the next day.

This train will stop at important stations like Durgapur and Asansol in both directions. Passengers can choose between sleeper class and air-conditioned coaches.

Madar Junction–Kolkata Special Train

• Train No. 09605 (Madar Junction to Kolkata): Departs at 10:45 am on April 17, 24, and May 1 and reaches Kolkata at 9:50 pm the next day.

• Train No. 09606 (Kolkata to Madar Junction): Leaves at 12:50 am on April 19, 26, and May 3 and arrives at 2:00 pm the next day.

This service also halts at Durgapur and Asansol and offers general second class, sleeper class, and AC coaches, giving passengers flexible travel options.

Sabarmati BG–Asansol Special

• Train No. 09435 (Sabarmati BG to Asansol): Will depart at 10:55 pm on April 17 and 24 and reach Asansol at 1:15 pm on the third day.

• Train No. 09436 (Asansol to Sabarmati BG): Will leave at 4:10 pm on April 19 and 26 and arrive at 7:15 am on the third day.

This train will be fully air-conditioned, making it a comfortable choice for long-distance summer travel.
