WCD Ministry To Launch 100-Day Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat Campaign Tomorrow Nationwide
In a significant step towards safeguarding the rights of children, the Ministry of Women and Child Development is set to launch a 100-day intensive awareness campaign aimed at promoting a Child Marriage Free Bharat. Scheduled to begin on 4 December 2025 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, the programme marks the completion of one year since the inception of the Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat campaign. Union Minister Smt. Annpurna Devi, along with Minister of State Smt. Savitri Thakur, will preside over the event, highlighting the government’s continued commitment to protecting young lives.
Spell 2 (1 – 31 Jan 2026): The second phase focuses on engaging faith leaders, community influencers, and marriage service providers. By leveraging their authority and influence, the campaign aims to spread messages on child safety, empowerment, and the importance of delaying marriage until adulthood.
Spell 3 (1 Feb – 8 Mar 2026): The final phase mobilises Gram Panchayats and Municipal Wards to formally pass resolutions declaring their areas child-marriage-free. This phase consolidates the earlier awareness and advocacy efforts, translating public engagement into tangible, community-level commitments.
The Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat campaign, now entering its second year, exemplifies India’s proactive efforts to safeguard children, promote gender equality, and build a safer, empowered future for all young citizens.
Celebrating Progress And Inspiring Change
The launch will feature a National Pledge to End Child Marriage, alongside a specially produced film highlighting inspiring stories of change from across India. Frontline champions working against child marriage will also share their experiences, celebrating the progress achieved over the past year.
