-East Bengal FC vs Sporting Club Delhi

East Bengal FC heads into this match following a dominant 3-0 win against NorthEast United FC in their season opener at the same venue. Youssef Ezzejjari netted two goals, while Miguel Ferreira added another to secure the victory for the Red and Gold Brigade.

In a pre-match statement, East Bengal FC's head coach Oscar Bruzon remarked, “SC Delhi is a familiar opponent for us. They possess a distinct playing style, led by a coach who emphasizes possession football and building from the back, along with a squad of young, dynamic players eager to earn their first points. We anticipate a challenging match. In a league with a shorter duration, mistakes can be costly, so our focus is on taking it one game at a time and continuously improving. If we maintain our performance level, I believe we can achieve the desired result.”

Midfielder Jeakson Singh of East Bengal FC added, “Every match holds significance for us. We have been preparing diligently and are ready to give our all this season. The fans were incredible in our last game, and we hope to see them in large numbers again. We will strive to make them proud.”

On the other hand, SC Delhi is looking to bounce back after a 0-2 defeat to Bengaluru FC last Sunday. They aim to enhance their defensive strength and attacking coordination against a confident East Bengal side.

SC Delhi's head coach Tomasz Tchorz stated, “East Bengal is among the most formidable and organized teams in the league, featuring experienced Indian players, quality foreign talent, and a coach with a successful track record in India and Asia. This presents not only a significant challenge for us but also a tremendous opportunity.”

He further noted, “The players demonstrated that we can compete at this level, despite the unfavorable result against Bengaluru. We must now sharpen our focus during critical moments and be more decisive with our opportunities. We arrive in Kolkata with confidence, ambition, and a clear goal of securing three points.”

Defender Manoj Mohammed from SC Delhi emphasized, “Scoring is crucial for the team, regardless of who finds the net. What truly matters is our collective performance and capitalizing on our chances. I have played in Kolkata before, including in significant matches like the derby. The atmosphere is electric, and performing well there is immensely rewarding.”

As the hosts aim to build on their attacking momentum, SC Delhi will look to stay compact and exploit counter-attacks. With East Bengal FC brimming with confidence and SC Delhi showing determination, the early kick-off promises to be an engaging encounter in Kolkata.

-Jamshedpur FC vs Punjab FC

Jamshedpur FC seeks to continue their winning streak at the Furnace, where they secured a 1-0 victory against Mohammedan Sporting, thanks to an early goal from former Punjab midfielder Madih Talal.

Head coach Owen Coyle of Jamshedpur FC expressed, “We hold great respect for Punjab, as they possess quality and depth across the field, particularly in wide areas. They can be very dangerous if we lose focus for even a moment. Therefore, our emphasis must be on ourselves—managing the ball, maintaining concentration throughout the match, and being more clinical with the chances we create. If we perform at our best, move the ball effectively, and play with the intensity we expect at home, we believe we can win this game.”

Defender Stephen Eze from Jamshedpur FC added, “Punjab is a strong team, but we will stick to our style, give our all, and with the support of our fans at home, we will do everything possible to secure three points.”

Punjab FC arrives in Jamshedpur aiming to make a strong first impression against a team that has already demonstrated control and defensive solidity at home.

Punjab FC head coach Panagiotis Dilmperis stated, “We have our strategies in place for tomorrow's match, and we will aim to execute them effectively. This is our first match of the season, and we hope to start on a positive note. We thrive on playing in front of fans in packed stadiums, which we believe will motivate us.”

Regarding their opponents, Dilmperis added, “Jamshedpur is a very good team with a well-rounded squad. We are not fixated on any single player, as that would distract us from the others.”

Goalkeeper Arshdeep Singh from Punjab FC mentioned, “The team has been working hard, and the atmosphere in the dressing room is very positive. As the coach mentioned, we have a plan for tomorrow, and we are committed to it. We are confident of achieving a favorable result by the end of the match.”

Jamshedpur FC will aim to control possession and apply consistent pressure at home, while Punjab FC seeks to remain organized and execute their game plan with discipline in their season opener.
