Lord Krishna on Meditation & Samadhi
Newspoint
In Dhyan Yoga, Bhagwan Krishna points out the importance of meditation to Arjuna. The best tool for mind mastery that any human being can use, at any point in his or her life, is meditation. In fact, Bhagwan defined meditation in this way: “... The yogi should strive to purify the mind by focusing it in meditation with one pointed concentration, controlling all thoughts and activities. He must hold the body, neck, and head firmly in a straight line, and gaze at the tip of the nose, without allowing the eyes to wander.”

All we have to do to strengthen focus and develop inner calm is to sit by ourselves in a quiet corner and concentrate the mind on a single thought. We can meditate by keeping an image of Lord Krishna in our minds as well. This technique is extremely powerful for purifying our minds from the depth.

Lord Krishna went on talking about the powerful benefits of meditation in Dhyan Yoga in this way:

“In that joyous state of Yoga, called Samadhi, one experiences supreme boundless divine bliss, and thus situated, one never deviates from the Eternal Truth.”

As we move forward in our journey of meditation, along with fulfilling our duties without attachments, we will slowly, but surely, reach Samadhi, the supreme state of “boundless divine bliss.” This is the state in which all our karmic bondages get destroyed and we get freed from all kinds cravings and aversions. Always remember the fact that each moment that you are meditating, contemplating about the Supreme and fulfilling your duties without attachments, you are getting one step closer to this ultimate state of Moksha.
