Facebook Affiliate Partnerships: A new feature has arrived on Facebook and Instagram. Through this feature, creators will be able to tag products in their posts and Reels, earning a commission on any purchases made as a result.

Facebook Affiliate Partnerships: Meta has unlocked a new avenue for generating income on Facebook and Instagram. The company has announced "Facebook Affiliate Partnerships." This initiative allows creators to link products directly within their posts and Reels. When a user clicks on such a link and purchases a product, the creator receives a commission. While announcing this at the Shoptalk 2026 conference, the company stated that by combining creator monetization, artificial intelligence, and in-app shopping, Meta aims to transform its social media platforms into robust e-commerce destinations.

What Will Change with Facebook Affiliate Partnerships?

Until now, creators were unable to tag products directly within their posts and Reels. They were required to provide product links in their bio or in the comments section; however, this restriction is now being lifted. Products can now be tagged directly within the post itself, allowing the audience to not only view the product but also tap on it to make a purchase—with the resulting commission going directly into the creator's pocket.

How Will This Feature Work?

This feature will function on both Facebook and Instagram. Creators will be given the option to tag products in their photo posts as well as in their Reels. Once linked, a clearly visible and clickable banner will appear on the content. Tapping on this banner will redirect the viewer to the affiliate partner's app or mobile website, where they can complete their purchase.

Feature Rolled Out in These Countries

Initially, the company has rolled this feature out for Amazon and Shopee. For Amazon, the feature has gone live in the United States, while for Shopee, it is now active in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Brazil, and Taiwan. The company has stated that it intends to introduce this feature to additional platforms and countries in the coming days.
