'Aadu 3' box office collections Day 4: Jayasurya starrer maintains pace; crosses Rs 56 crore

Jayasurya ’s much-awaited film 'Aadu 3' is continuing its steady run at the box office. Despite mixed reviews, the film has managed to attract audiences, especially over the opening weekend.

On Day 4, the film collected a net total of Rs 7.10 crore across 1,936 shows. This marks only a slight dip of 0.7% compared to its Rs 7.15 crore haul on Day 3, Sacnilk reports.

So far, the film has collected Rs 26.50 crore net in India, with a gross collection of Rs 30.61 crore domestically. The overseas performance has been particularly strong, adding Rs 25.75 crore, which takes the total worldwide gross to Rs 56.36 crore.

Day-wise performance breakdown
The film opened on a decent note and showed gradual growth over the weekend. On Day 1, it collected Rs 5.95 crore, followed by Rs 6.30 crore on Day 2. Day 3 saw a jump to Rs 7.15 crore, before maintaining its collections at Rs 7.10 crore on Sunday.

Occupancy trends also reflect this steady performance. The overall occupancy stood at 74.33%, with morning shows at 54.92%, afternoon and evening shows reporting the highest footfalls at 84.25% to 84.50%, and night shows seeing a dip with 73.67% occupancy.

Plot brings back familiar chaos
'Aadu 3' brings back Shaji Pappan and his gang, continuing the franchise’s signature chaotic storytelling. This time, the narrative revolves around a cat-and-mouse chase for a precious stone.

The film also introduces a time-travel element, adding a new layer to the story. While the concept sounds intriguing, its execution has received mixed reactions from viewers.

The dual timelines - one set in the familiar Aadu universe and another dating back to the 1700s - attempt to expand the narrative scope. However, this ambition has not fully translated into engaging storytelling for all audiences.
