Beware! I was scammed while shopping on Instagram. If you're shopping, read my personal experience first
Instagram isn't just a social media app, it's become a major platform for online shopping and promotion. Brands and online sellers, both large and small, advertise their products on Instagram, hoping to influence users to make purchases.
Instagram is an app where people promote their products. If a major influencer leaves a review, people will assume the page is trustworthy. Influenced by this, people visit websites through Instagram and make purchases. However, this is proving detrimental. This has happened to many people. People shop online and the product turns out to be fake. When they try to return it, they are blocked by the account or the return option is not available. There is no customer care number, and emails are not answered. In such a situation, the customer has no choice but to regret it. Something similar happened to one of our team members. If you like something on Instagram and are planning to make a purchase, check whether the website and account are trustworthy. These tips will help you avoid falling into the trap of fraudsters.
Our team also ordered from the website, so what?
When one of our team members shopped on this website, she had a similar experience. Upon ordering, she received a fake product, and after making the payment, when she requested a refund, Label Divya blocked her. Frustrated, the employee messaged Label Divya's official Instagram account to explain her problem and seek information about the order or refund.
But instead of helping, Label Divya simply blocked her. Our team member then tried contacting another Instagram account and politely requested a refund. Sadly, that second account was also blocked by Label Divya.
Users are complaining
This information was shared on a social media account named Jyotsna_malhotra, which labeled the Divya account as fake.
Similar information was shared from the account of gunjan.chhabara, where she called a website fake. She stated that she ordered a blue velvet corset, but was sent a black anarkali. Despite contacting them, she received no proper resolution or accountability. Furthermore, after complaining, the Instagram account blocked her.
A user named Seepika_bhutani also shared information, calling the account fake. They wrote, "My friend ordered from this website and it turned out to be fake."
Other websites also provided information
- This post was made by Label Divya Jain, in which they reported an account fraud. They stated that someone is using their brand name to commit fraud. Please note that their website name is 'Label Divya Jain', not LABEL DIVYA.
- He further stated in his post, "We want to clearly state that we have no connection with LABEL DIVYA. Despite this, we continue to receive repeated calls and complaints from their customers."
- We operate under the name LABEL DIVYA JAIN, and our team responds to every inquiry received at our store with utmost responsibility. We are not responsible for any issues related to LABEL DIVYA or labeldivya.com. Therefore, we humbly request everyone to contact the brand directly, not us, if they have any complaints or questions regarding LABEL DIVYA. If we continue to be harassed unnecessarily, we will be forced to take legal action against the brand and other responsible individuals.
How to identify if an Instagram account is real or fake?
- To do this, first check the number of times the account name has been changed. This information is listed in the account details.
- Also, pay attention to when the account was created and how many followers it has. If it's a new account and suddenly has thousands of followers, it could be fake.
- Blue Tick can also be purchased by paying money, so pay attention to whether the account deserves a Blue Tick based on the number of followers.
