Did Zakir Khan roasted Bollywood over 'Dhurandhar 2' buzz at an Award show?
At the Screen Awards 2026, stand-up comedian Zakir Khan brought his signature humor to the stage, taking a playful yet pointed dig at Bollywood’s reaction to the massive success of Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge.
Hosting the event, Khan used his platform to roast the film fraternity, suggesting that much of the industry’s praise for the film comes with a hint of insincerity. He highlighted how celebrities have been sharing congratulatory posts, stories, and interviews declaring the film as their favorite. However, according to Khan, beneath all the admiration lies a sense of envy.

He said, “Kitne hi congratulatory post aap daal dein, kitni hi Stories daal dein, kitne hi interview mein aap bol dein my favourite film, magar sach toh yeh hai ki Dhurandhar se sabki jalti toh hai.”
Continuing his satire, Khan also took aim at the industry’s award culture and the film’s sweeping dominance. Recalling a moment with technicians, he joked that they questioned why they were even invited if all awards were destined for Dhurandhar. Adding to the punchline, he remarked that while payments may not always come through, at least awards sometimes do.
He further amplified the humor with a witty line: “Bomb film mein phootein Lyari mein, par dhuan udaa hai Bandra se Juhu mein.”
Headlined by Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has emerged as a massive commercial success. The film has crossed ₹1,000 crore nett domestically and surpassed ₹1,600 crore gross worldwide. Even after 18 days in theatres, it continues to run strongly, breaking multiple box office records across Bollywood.
