Emma Bunton calls limited edition Spice Girls coins an 'incredible honour' as fans race to buy them
On Sunday we celebrated International Women’s Day, with March as a whole marking the official International Women’s Month. To mark the occasion, The Royal Mint has launched a brand new collection of Spice Girls coins to celebrate the original “girl power”, making them the first ever female group to have their own coin.
The brand new collection of Spice Girls coins start from £18.50 and go up to £10,535 depending on which type of coin you buy and the rarity of each one. Announcing the launch, Emma Bunton posted on Instagram saying: “How’s this for Girl Power?! The first female group ever to have our very own coin! It’s such an incredible honour to be celebrated by The Royal Mint. What a moment.”

The Spice Girls coins are also perfectly timed to celebrate 30 years of the Spice Girls, who launched their debut chart-topping single Wannabe in 1996. The coins were created in collaboration with the girl group themselves, and come in silver, gold and colour editions.
The Spice Girls 2026 UK £5 Brilliant Uncirculated Coin is the most affordable piece in the collection, costing £18.50 and is a simple silver coin with the Spice Girls logo on. You can also pick up uncirculated colour editions that pay tribute to Baby, Ginger, Posh, Sporty and Scary Spice, with individual slipcases on each Spice Girl.
There’s only 15,000 of these being launched, with each one costing £29.50. They come with an exclusive slipcase that pays homage to each of the five Spice Girls and their personality depending on which one you choose.
You can also snap up plenty more Spice Girls merchandise to celebrate 30 years since the groups debut. At ASOS, the ASOS Design Relaxed Hoodie With Spice Girls Print is on sale for £25.50 down from £36, whilst the ASOS DESIGN Oversized Sweatshirt With Spice Girls Print is now £27.20 down from £34.
Meanwhile the Official Spice Girls Album T-Shirt is £18.69 down from £19.99 at Amazon, and features the classic Spice Girls logo with each of the members on. It comes in both men’s and women’s sizes, as well as plus size and big and tall sizing options.
However the Royal Mint’s Spice Girls coins are a great limited edition item that collectors and fans of the group will no doubt be racing to get their hands on.
