Finding an Aadhaar center has become super easy! UIDAI and Google Maps collaborate to find the exact location in one click.
UIDAI and Google Maps: Finding the right center to update your name, address, or mobile number on your Aadhaar card will no longer be a headache.
Finding the right center to update your name, address, or mobile number on your Aadhaar card will no longer be a hassle. To relieve people from the hassle of searching for the correct center, UIDAI has partnered with Google to launch a new digital feature.
Under this system, UIDAI has integrated the official database of its accredited Aadhaar service centers with Google Maps. This means that the locations displayed on the map will now match government records. Previously, people would often arrive at the address shown online and find no authorized center, wasting both time and money.
This feature is also easy to use. Users simply need to open Google Maps and search for nearby Aadhaar centers. The centers displayed in the search results will clearly indicate whether they are authorized or verified. Upon tapping on any center, complete information, such as opening hours, working days, and available services, will appear on the screen.
A major objective of this partnership is to prevent fraud. Previously, incorrect information at many locations led to fraud or forced additional fees. Now, only information about Aadhaar centers operated at banks, post offices, or other government-approved locations will be displayed on Maps, increasing transparency.
It has also been clarified regarding privacy that this feature will be limited to displaying locations only.
A large number of people across the country visit Aadhaar centers every month for Aadhaar-related purposes. Finding the right location was challenging, especially for those living in new cities or rural areas. Now, having direct access to authorized centers via maps will save people time and make the process more reliable.
