GBU Launches 5 New Courses; 4,000 Seats Open Across 152 Programs in New Session
Vice-Chancellor Professor Rana Pratap Singh announced that five new courses have been introduced. The Advanced Diploma in Child Guidance and Counseling has been approved by the RCI.
The admission process for the 2026-27 academic session at Gautam Buddha University (GBU) commenced on Thursday (April 23). Five new courses have been added to the curriculum for this session. With the addition of these five new programs, students will now be able to seek admission to 4,077 seats across a total of 152 courses at GBU. For the first time, 50 percent of the seats in undergraduate and bachelor’s degree courses at GBU are to be filled based on CUET scores. Students from four intermediate colleges affiliated with the Noida-Greater Noida Education Society will be granted a 20 percent concession on tuition fees.
Seat Distribution Across Courses
GBU Vice-Chancellor Professor Rana Pratap Singh stated that five new courses have been introduced, keeping in mind the evolving needs of both the industry and academia. The Advanced Diploma in Child Guidance and Counseling has been approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). Additionally, a PG Diploma in Heritage Restoration and Management has been launched in collaboration with IIT Roorkee. Furthermore, given the current market trends, there is a significant demand for gym trainers. To address this growing demand and to train professionals in the field, courses in Gym Instruction and Gym Management have been introduced. Students will be able to seek admission to 2,620 seats across 55 undergraduate courses, 1,265 seats across 61 postgraduate courses, 70 seats across three diploma courses, 20 seats across 12 lateral entry courses, and 102 seats across 21 PhD programs.
How to Secure Admission?
Admission to the B.Sc. (Hons) Clinical Psychology, MBA, LLM, and PhD programs will be granted through the University Entrance Test (GBU-ET 2026). Meanwhile, students will be able to participate in the admission process through national and state-level examinations such as CUET, JEE, CAT, MAT, NATA, and CLAT.
Courses on Offer
For the 2026-27 academic session, five new courses have been added to the university’s curriculum; these include two postgraduate programs: Master of Science (Nuclear Medicine) and Master of Science (Geospatial Data Science). The Master’s degree in Nuclear Medicine will be a two-year program with an intake capacity of 10 seats. Similarly, the Master’s degree in Geospatial Data Science will also span two years. Additionally, 25 seats have been allocated for the one-year Diploma in Child Guidance and Counseling, and another 25 seats for the one-year PG Diploma in Heritage Restoration and Management. Furthermore, a three-month Foundation Course in Gym Instruction and Management has been introduced, with 20 seats reserved for the program.
