Gold-Silver Rates Today: A decline in the prices of both gold and silver is being observed today. Prices have eased across all categories—24-carat, 22-carat, and 18-carat.

Gold-Silver Rates Today (May 5): On Tuesday, a decline was recorded in the prices of 24-carat, 22-carat, and 18-carat gold, following a surge in energy prices on Monday (May 4), amidst rising tensions in West Asia.

The luster of silver has also dimmed somewhat today. On one hand, crude oil prices have surged past $110 per barrel, fueling fears of rising inflation. Amidst these inflationary apprehensions, the likelihood of the US Federal Reserve cutting interest rates also appears to be diminishing. When interest rates remain high, investors typically prefer to invest their capital in fixed-return instruments—such as bonds or fixed deposits—rather than in gold and silver.
