Jamie Laing blasted for new mum post as he praises 'superhero' wife Sophie Habboo
Angry mum influencers have slammed Jamie Laing for setting ‘unrealistic expectations’ on new mothers after he praised his ‘superwoman’ wife, Sophie Habboo, for ‘creating a magical Christmas’ three weeks after giving birth to their son Ziggy.
Jamie posted a video on his Instagram showing Sophie snuggled up to their baby before putting applying the finishing touches to their dining room table.
He wrote: “POV: your wife is 3 weeks postpartum and still creates a magical Christmas.”

While some followers praised the Made in Chelsea star for celebrating his wife, one commented: “This is lovely but also let’s not normalise post partum women being ‘superwoman’ it’s not normal.”
Another added: “I normally love your content, but this is an insensitive post and sets an unrealistic expectation/pressure on other new mothers. Not everyone has the money, resources and support to be able to do this.”

Another questioned whether the couple had had outside help over the festive season.
They added: “Good she is recovering but be honest with your posts. You’ve paid someone to do this and got a chef in to do everything.
'If you had a caterer (family members) helping please say so. Not detracting but keep it real for those not able to get near this. Life not a competition but it can feel like it is. Wishing you all health and happiness on your journey with Ziggy”.
After welcoming their first child earlier this month, the couple checked into the 'UK's leading postpartum wellness retreat'.
Jamie, 36, and Sophie, 31, kept fans up to date throughout her pregnancy and the busy pair even moved into a stunning £12million home ahead of the baby's arrival as they prepared for life as a family of three. They announced they were expecting back in June in a sweet Instagram post.
After dating for several years, Jamie got down on one knee at the Rosewood London hotel in December 2021, where he and Sophie shared their first ever date, and popped the question.
The pair tied the knot in a civil ceremony in London in April 2023 with close friends and family, before having a huge weekend celebration in Marbella the following month.
