Ken Karunaas gets emotional at 'Youth' success meet, says 'People cheering for me in theatres feels unbelievable'
The success meet of ' Youth ' was held on March 31, where actor and director Ken Karunaas shared his heartfelt thoughts about the film’s journey. Speaking at the event, he said the audience response has been beyond anything he expected.
As per Cinema Vikatan , Ken explained that the loud cheers from fans surprise him whenever he visits theatres. “When I go for theatre visits, people shout and cheer when they see me. I still can’t believe it,” he said. The filmmaker added that many of his dreams are slowly becoming real through the film’s success, making the moment very special for him.

During the speech, Ken also spoke about the advice he received from his father, actor Karunas. He said his father often told him that when a dream becomes real, it may feel unbelievable at first. “My father used to say that when something we wish for deeply becomes true, it may not feel real,” Ken said. He added that he now understands those words after seeing the love for the film. Ken also thanked the producers who supported his vision and helped bring the project to life. According to him, the film was made mainly to make his parents proud. “We made this film to make my father and mother proud. Now they are very happy,” he said.

Ken also spoke about the film’s box office performance, which he said has gone far beyond the team’s expectations. “The collection is more than what we imagined. I am happy that everyone who worked on this film will move to the next stage in their careers,” he said. The production team recently announced that the film crossed Rs 50 crore worldwide within just 11 days of release. Ken added that he carefully watched and read all the reviews about the film. He said he will learn from the feedback and try to improve many aspects in his upcoming projects.
