Ladki Bahin Yojana: Will women receive good news on Makar Sankranti? Rs. 3000 may be credited to their accounts...
Are more than 2.5 crore women in Maharashtra about to receive a big gift on Makar Sankranti? Women beneficiaries of the Ladki Bahin Yojana have been eagerly awaiting the money to be credited to their accounts. This month, they received the money, but only 1500 rupees – just the November installment. The question remains: when will the December and January installments arrive? According to the latest information, the money may be credited to the women's accounts on January 14th, Makar Sankranti.
Although nothing has been officially announced yet, BJP candidate Tejasvi Ghosalkar, who is contesting the local body elections, has made this claim. According to her, eligible women under the Chief Minister's Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana will receive both the December and January installments, a total of 3000 rupees, in their accounts on January 14th. Municipal elections are scheduled in Maharashtra on January 15th. Therefore, the money might be deposited into the women's accounts before the elections. However, due to the lack of an official announcement, the situation remains confusing.
What the Officials Say
Meanwhile, an official from the Women and Child Development Ministry says that there might be a delay in the Ladki Bahin Yojana installment. The code of conduct will remain in effect until the elections are over. Therefore, they may have to wait until the funds are released.
November's Payment Received
Beneficiaries of the Ladki Bahin Yojana received the November installment only this month. It was initially said that the women would receive 3000 rupees at once. However, only 1500 rupees were credited to their accounts this month. It cannot be said for certain whether the money will arrive on January 14th or not, and if it does, how much will be credited.
These Women Will Not Receive the Money
The Maharashtra government had asked beneficiaries to complete eKYC. The deadline for this was extended to December 31st. It is believed that many women were unable to complete the eKYC even after this extended deadline. The money for women who missed the eKYC process may be withheld.
eKYC deadline not extended
It was being speculated that another opportunity would be given for eKYC in view of the municipal elections. However, the deadline was not extended beyond December 31, 2025. The option for the eKYC process has now been removed from the portal as well.
