'Masterpiece' Scorsese drama hailed as 'best film ever made' is leaving Netflix

Netflix viewers have just days to watch an "epic" high-octane crime drama from renowned director Martin Scorsese.

The film, which fans are describing as an "absolute masterpiece" first came out in 2013 and currently holds a 79% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The "all time favourite" streaming on Netflix is based on a true story and adapted from a New York Times best-selling memoir.

Starring Leonardo DiCaprio in the leading role, the film is based on the real story of Jordan Belfort, a former stockbroker and trader on Wall Street, New York.

The film also stars Margot Robbie, Jonah Hill, Matthew McConaughey, Kyle Chandler, Rob Reiner, Jon Favreau and Cristin Milioti.

Titled The Wolf of Wall Street, the film is Scorsese's eight-best film according to IMDb rankings, which places 1990's Goodfellas in the number one spot. However, the "highly entertaining" movie remains a firm favourite amongst fans.

The IMDb synopsis for the film reads: "Based on the true story of Jordan Belfort, from his rise to a wealthy stock-broker living the high life to his fall involving crime, corruption and the federal government."

In the comments section, someone branded the film "Oscar-worthy", writing: "The movie Leonardo DiCaprio should have gotten an Oscar for. His portrayal of the character is perfect. The movie is well-written, leaving no details out of the original story.

"Martin Scorsese never fails to impress. One of the only example where the movie is better than the book. The movie never gets boring, I could watch this anytime."

Meanwhile, the reviews on Rotten Tomatoes were equally glowing, with one person writing: "What a masterpiece! wild, entertaining, and brilliantly executed. The narration was insanely great - it added a whole new layer of depth and personality to the film that made the story even more engaging."

The Wolf of Wall Street is available to stream now on Netflix until January 14.
