Miranda Kerr says 'we celebrated' as she addresses Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry's split
Miranda Kerrhas spoken publicly about her ex-husband Orlando Bloom and his recent split from fiancée Katy Perry for the first time.
Orlando, 48, and Katy, 40, who began dating in 2016 and became engaged on Valentine’s Day 2019, announced their separation in June this year after nine years together. The couple share a five-year-old daughter, Daisy, and have been co-parenting her since their split.
Speaking on KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O Show on Thursday, Miranda described the breakup as amicable as she opened up about her ex-husband's split for the first time.
“Was it mutual?” host Kyle Sandilands asked. To which Miranda, 42, revealed: "Yes, and I actually just saw them both on the weekend. We were celebrating [their daughter] Daisy’s birthday. We’re one big, happy family. Katy is amazing, I love her. And Orlando obviously.

Miranda, who co-parents her 14-year-old son Flynn with Orlando, stressed the importance of maintaining a positive relationship after a separation, particularly when children are involved. “If you do have animosity, it only hurts yourself,” she said.
A source previously told Us Weekly that the split was “amicable” and “not contentious.” The source added at the time that Katy was upset but “relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life.”
Prior to publicly announcing their split, Orlando and Katy reportedly rented out their $30 million Montecito mansion to actor Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger. They had also been living apart since the start of Katy’s Lifetimes Tour earlier this year in April.
The couple first sparked romance rumors when they attended a Golden Globes afterparty together in January 2016.
Early in their relationship, Orlando made headlines when he was spotted paddle-boarding naked with Katy in Sardinia. After briefly splitting in 2017, they reunited, and Orlando proposed on Valentine’s Day 2019 with a ring believed to be worth $5 million.
In 2020, the couple welcomed Daisy, Katy’s first child and Orlando’s second, alongside his 14-year-old son Flynn with Miranda Kerr.
Earlier this summer, it was confirmed that their fairytale love story was over for good. Those representing both Katy and Orlando issued a joint statement.
The statement at the time read: "Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry's relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting."
"They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is - and always will be - raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect," it concluded.
It comes after Katy has been romantically linked to Canadian politician Justin Trudeau after they were seen enjoying dinner following her concert in Montreal.
US media outlet TMZ posted a number of pictures of Katy and Justin at Le Violon restaurant last week and two days later, fans then saw him having the time of his life at her concert at the Bell Centre, as part of her Lifetimes tour.
