Among these avatars, the form of Lord Narasimha is considered exceptionally wondrous and powerful, symbolizing strength, valor, and the protection of devotees. Lord Narasimha manifested on the *Chaturdashi* (fourteenth day) of the *Shukla Paksha* (waxing phase of the moon) during the month of *Vaishakh*; hence, Narasimha Jayanti is celebrated on this day. Religious belief holds that this avatar serves as a symbol demonstrating that whenever righteousness faces a crisis, the Divine manifests in any form necessary to protect His devotees and eradicate unrighteousness.

**Who Should Worship Lord Narasimha?**
According to religious belief, the worship of Lord Narasimha is considered particularly beneficial for those who are troubled by any form of fear, adversity, or enemies. Individuals who frequently encounter obstacles, injustice, mental stress, or a sense of insecurity in their lives should undoubtedly worship Lord Narasimha. It is believed that if a person plagued by obstacles caused by enemies, legal disputes, negative energy, or fear remembers Lord Narasimha with sincere devotion, they receive immediate relief, and their courage and inner strength are significantly enhanced.

**The Mythological Tale of Hiranyakashipu and Prahlad**

Hiranyakashipu, the son of Sage Kashyapa, performed rigorous penance and obtained a boon from Lord Brahma stating that he could not be killed by any deity, human, or living creature. Swollen with arrogance due to this boon, he began to consider himself God and compelled his subjects to worship him. However, his son, Prahlad, was an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu. Hiranyakashipu attempted to reason with and intimidate him on numerous occasions, yet Prahlad remained unwavering in his devotion. Several attempts were made to kill him—including the attempt to have him sit in a fire alongside Holika—but each time, by the grace of the Lord, he emerged unharmed. Eventually, enraged, Hiranyakashipu bound Prahlada to a pillar and demanded to know where his God was. Just as he attempted to strike Prahlada down, Lord Narasimha emerged from that very pillar and—at twilight, neither inside the house nor outside—slayed him using His divine claws.

On this auspicious day, rise early in the morning, take a ritual bath, and don clean attire. Place a wooden stool (Chowki) at your place of worship, drape it with a red, white, or yellow cloth, and install an idol or image of Lord Narasimha and Goddess Lakshmi. During the worship, offer *Panchamrit* (a sacred mixture of five ingredients), fruits, flowers, *Panchmeva* (a mixture of five dry fruits), *Kumkum* (vermilion), saffron, a coconut, *Akshat* (unbroken rice grains), and yellow garments (*Pitambar*). Devoutly chant the mantra "Om Narasimhaya Varapradaya Namah" and donate cooling items (such as cold beverages or food) to the needy.
