When it comes to luxury watches, the first thing that springs to mind may not be trash, but then Detrash is no ordinary jewellery brand. The innovative company makes watches out of ocean plastic, and their new £375 Au.M.G dive watch is no exception.

Those tired of the current shopping options will surely be impressed that Detrash is redefining sustainable watches, and the results might just surprise fashion lovers and watch collectors alike.

For anyone who likes to stand out from the crowd, Detrash's new Au.M.G watch is limited edition, meaning that only 100 have been made, and what's more, there's only 60 currently left to shop on the retailer's website. The statement timepiece is already a hit with eco-conscious shoppers thanks to its 80% recycled surgical-grade steel design and tide ocean plastic strap.

No detail has been spared, the luxe-looking watch boasts a stylish scratch-resistant Sapphire Crystal with an anti-reflective coating. The watch also sees Detrash's first foray into PVD gold coating, giving the timepiecea chic timeless look.

Built from 80% recycled surgical-grade steel, the Au.M.G model also features a dial modelled on one of the brand's popular but permanently sold out designs, the Gotham's Vigilante model. The classic and elegant timepiece isn't all style over substance either, as the watch is water resistant up to 200 metres, and boasts a sturdy design that's been created to be worn hard and passed on to future generations.

For anyone wondering why the watch has been named Au.M.G, the letters stand for gold, marine, and grit, reflecting its materials. The brand doesn't only place importance on its materials however, as it has committed to 1% of every sale supporting Surfers Against Sewage.

Great craftsmanship aside, Detrash's commitment to a more environmentally friendly yet elevated customer experience can be seen throughout the unboxing process too, with the watch being placed in a carry pouch made from deadstock fabric.

Alternative watches currently available to shop includeTissot's PR 100 Blue 40mm model, which is shoppable via Goldsmiths for £285. It's water-resistant to a pressure of 10 bar and is made from high-quality 316L stainless steel.

Shoppers can also buy theCitizen Men's Blue Chronograph Dial Stainless Steel Bracelet watch for half price at H.Samuel. Currently cut from £250 to £125, it boasts a statement blue dial and a convenient date display.

Back at Detrash, the brand's website has a number of glowing reviews, with one shopper saying: "Absolutely love my Detrash watch. I have a collection of Tissot watches and this watch stands up to those in quality and looks.

"It has an expensive feel about it. Very fast delivery too. Hoping to add another Detrash very soon."

However, it's worth noting that one shopper mentioned as part of their review that they felt the watch may be a little weighty for everyday use, writing: "It's chunky and maybe too heavy as a go to every day watch. That said, for wearing for an occasion it's pucker - looks fantastic."

Despite this, another happy reviewer wrote: "Awesome product, looks amazing and super fast delivery."
