The fee for the plastic Aadhaar card has been increased. According to UIDAI, the Aadhaar PVC card previously cost Rs 50. But from January 2026, its fee has been increased to Rs 75. This charge includes taxes and will be applicable when ordering through the myAadhaar portal or mAadhaar app.
The reason behind the fee increase has also been explained. UIDAI says that the cost of making the card has increased significantly.
The Aadhaar PVC card is quite durable. In size, it is exactly like a debit or credit card. Compared to the paper Aadhaar, it does not get damaged easily. Its validity is exactly the same as that of the Aadhaar letter and e-Aadhaar.
This card comes with several security features. Such as a hologram, micro text, embossed Aadhaar logo, and a clearer photo.
There is no need to go anywhere to order an Aadhaar PVC card. You have to go to myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in and enter your Aadhaar number or Virtual ID. Log in with the OTP received on your registered mobile number, check the details, and make an online payment of Rs 75. After that, you will get a tracking number.
The card is printed and handed over to India Post within approximately 5 working days of receiving the order.
