This means that separate apps will no longer be required to book general tickets, platform tickets, and reserved tickets. The primary purpose of this change is to make ticket booking easier and smarter.

Indian Railways has made a major change to its ticketing process for passengers. The old UTS app will be discontinued from March 1st and replaced by the new RailOne app. This means that separate apps will no longer be required to book general tickets, platform tickets, and reserved tickets. The primary purpose of this change is to make ticket booking easier and smarter for passengers. Millions of passengers purchase general and platform tickets daily through their mobile phones, but many experienced difficulties using the old app. The RailOne app solves this problem and provides all ticketing services in one place.

What is the RailOne app and how will it work?

The RailOne app is a new and modern platform that offers almost all the conveniences of rail travel. You can now easily view and book general (unreserved) tickets, platform tickets, reserved tickets (set or berth bookings), train live status and location, and other travel-related information from just one app. Previously, passengers had to navigate to different apps or platforms, which was time-consuming and sometimes confusing. The RailOne app eliminates this hassle and makes ticket booking simple and quick.

QR Tickets Now Required

QR tickets will now be required to access platforms. This means that if you don't have a mobile or printed QR ticket, you won't be allowed entry. Booking tickets through the RailOne app will generate a QR code, which will be scanned at the station. This step has been taken to facilitate passengers and digitize the ticketing process. This will also reduce the problem of counterfeit tickets and ensure faster and safer platform entry.
