Rajesh Kumar reduced Rs 2 crore debt to Rs 20 lakh; reveals sisters left high-paying jobs abroad to join his farming business
Actor Rajesh Kumar , popular for playing Roshesh Kumar on the iconic TV show Sarabhai vs Sarabhai , has often spoken about his journey as a farmer. In past interviews, Rajesh often shared how he took a break from acting for a few years to focus on farming. Rajesh not only stepped away from the entertainment industry but also returned to his hometown in Bihar to try his hand at organic farming. Now, in his latest conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Rajesh revealed that his sisters, who were settled in the US and Finland for more than 25 years, quit their well-paying jobs to support him in his farming venture.

Speaking about his elder sister's decision to quit her job and return to Bihar, Rajesh said, "I want to share something interesting. As everyone knows, I am into farming. My elder sister was living in the US and is an American citizen, while my other sister is a citizen of Finland. They have both been settled abroad for the past 20–25 years. This year, on January 20, which was also my 50th birthday, my elder sister decided to quit her job. In fact, she resigned two months before my birthday and moved back to Bihar to join me in farming. That was her gift to me. She told me to focus on acting while she would take care of the farming. Because of her decision, my younger sister, whom I met about 10–15 days ago, also told me that she has resigned. She is currently serving her notice period and will move back to India by next March. She will also join us in farming. So ab hum teeno bhai Behan milke kheti karenge.”
He also shared an incident about his sister facing internet connection issues in Bihar and compared her situation with the film Swades, "“The funniest part is that she called me to complain about the internet. Our village still doesn’t have proper connectivity, and whatever is available is limited to about 2GB. She told me it was the first time she felt so helpless. She has always lived with easy internet access, so suddenly having none was difficult for her. When she spoke to people there, she realised that proper connection hasn’t reached the village yet. She is four years older than me and is facing problems because she can’t access the information she needs without the internet."
Rajesh, who had earlier revealed that he was under a debt of Rs 2 crore, shared in his latest interview that he has almost repaid the amount. He said, "As for the debt, it is almost cleared now. Only a small portion is left—around 10–15% of the total amount I had taken."
For the uninitiated, during his break from acting Rajesh had worked on a business plan to pursue farming. He introduced an app and tried selling organic produce. In fact, at one point, he even ran a vegetable cart outside his son’s school.
