Speaking of the beneficiaries of this scheme, the list includes:

  • Carpenters
  • Goldsmiths
  • Potters
  • Tailors
  • Cobblers
  • Masons
  • Barbers
  • and Washermen (Dhobis)

Traditional workers such as these are the primary beneficiaries. The government’s goal is to integrate these artisans into the economic mainstream and further enhance their skills.

Daily Financial Assistance Provided

It is worth noting that under this scheme, beneficiaries receive a daily stipend of up to ₹500 during their training period. This training typically lasts for approximately 15 days, and the funds are transferred directly into their bank accounts. This enables them to easily cover their daily expenses.

Access to Loans at Low Interest Rates

That is not all; under this scheme, the government also provides artisans with access to loans at low interest rates. Initially, a loan of up to ₹1 lakh is granted; furthermore, if this amount is repaid on time, a subsequent loan of up to ₹2 lakhs may be sanctioned in the next phase. This facility allows artisans to expand and grow their businesses.

Training and Modern Tools

Most importantly, this scheme offers more than just financial assistance; it also provides artisans with training in modern techniques and supplies them with modern tools and equipment. This enables them to significantly improve the quality and efficiency of their work. Focus on Rural Areas and Small Towns

The Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana has been launched specifically for people residing in rural areas and small towns. While it was previously difficult for these artisans to access bank loans and government assistance, this scheme now provides them with a direct platform.
